Name: Synergy
Age: 23
Sex:Male
Appearance:With a good complexion and striking features, Synergy is typically good looking. His hair is short, but kept perfectly in trim and always styled to a messy look. His features are that of a hero, with a 'kingly' jawline, rough stubble and big, deep eyes. His eyes are slightly more oval shaped than more people, and oddly, switch colours between blue and a sharp green on a daily basis. During a medical examination on his eyes, he was said to have perfect 20/20 vision when they were green, but somehow achieved a better 'distance differential' when they were blue, and had 25/20.
His clothing is usually black, as with all SOLDIER, except he covers his arms and hands in the same material because of his underlying feeling of insecurity to do with his body. He doesn't know where it comes from, since he is a confident individual. Syn is around 6'2", with a rather large frame. His arms, and legs are perfectly muscular and constantly ripped, without doing any sort of workout regime. Some would be happy with his no-effort strength, however Synergy has grown up with his body being perfect, strong and healthy, regardless of what he does, and finds it worrying, feeling that he is different.
Personality: Synergy seems confident to others, however underneath, he is seriously lacking in self esteem and questions his purpose daily. Because of his confidence, his moods fluctuate, and while alone Synergy is often depressed and suppressive. Curiously, Synergy constantly wants to prove himself, despite not even knowing who his parents were. He has no mentor or captain who he'd need to prove something to, but something subliminally wants him to constantly better himself, and those around him.
Syn is a social genius. He is very understanding, and finds it easy to relate to anyone and everyone, be it his enemy, or a love. He has no-idea where this element of his personality comes from, but he just 'knows' how people feel, he is very gifted with empathy. It also allows him to read body language better than most.
Strengths: Other than his super-natural strength, his super-naturally good vision and being a social master, Synergy has taken training in Marksmanship, and the usual SOLDIER close combat training.
Weaknesses: Lacking in confidence, Synergy takes criticism badly. It sinks in deep and he'll often bring it up while he's alone, rather than rise above it.
History:Synergy can't remember his younger years. Who can, right? He figures, and tries to shrug off his lack of memory for just being young. In actuality, he'd expect to have some sort of recollection from before he was 12. As far as he knows, at 13 he was pushed into an orphanage, where his memory begins. He was the sport-driven child, and would be the best at every sport. Even then, he was stronger than any other kid there, and each one would marvel at his fortune, at his gift of a good physique. Synergy was content, well liked and happy with himself. Every so often however, he'd get a twinge of sadness for a relative, despite not actually having any. He'd almost catch a glimpse of someone in his memory, but not quite long enough or clear enough to remember them. It depressed him greatly, and he dropped out of normal orphanage society (if you can call it normal) as he struggled to come to terms with not even remembering his parents.
This went on until he was 17. He was given some great fortune as Shinra went on a recruitment run of the Orphanage. They snapped up the fit and strong Synergy, who took up the chance to escape the Orphanage and set his mind on something other than his past.
Instantly, he became a favorite with the army, and even by 19 he was taken into SOLDIER. The instructors and trainers marveled at his constant strength and power in battle, as well as very short learning curve. Now, at 23, Synergy is a 2nd Class SOLDIER with high prospects of moving into 1st very soon. Even though being in the forces keeps his mind off of his past, his lack of memories do drag him into a depressive spiral, which even though he know's he'll escape from, seems to last forever and bring up new questions about his past.
Sample Rp:
LOVELESS was a load of rubbish, as far as Synergy was concerned. The first two acts spoke of angels, mothers and love. The third act was missing, but apparently it had something to do with 'The Gift of the Mother'. LOVELESS had fans, and followers. The more hardcore of the two claim that it's a prophecy, and everything it says will happen; The angel will get a gift from the mother, and the angel will clean the world. Yeah right. Angels? The only things on this world were Shinra, Wutai and Monsters. That pretty much summed up Gaia. Syn knew people wanted some hope, and some sort of closure for what had happened in Midgar, but following fictitious writings so explicitly was never going to be healthy.
They've even made a play about LOVELESS. Needless to say, Syn hadn't, and wouldn't go to see it.
Although..there were some who found happiness and faith in LOVELESS. Synergy sighed, he could definitely do with some faith in himself, if nothing else.
